Dead Meat

Even ugly critters can taste good, sometimes

Goat lung, heart, and intestines are on the menu! Scott Leysath is deep in the mountains of Córdoba, Argentina, staying with a family who lives off the grid. They prepare a feast of goat asado with sweet and savory organ appetizers.

Some might shudder at the thought of dining on some of the “less-desirable” animals featured in the popular television series Dead Meat. From Asian Carp Cakes to Swamp Bunny Stew, Leysath shows that even ugly critters can taste good, most of the time.

After many fan requests to bring the show back on the air, Leysath and Sporting Chef Productions brought in 4 Mile Post to reboot the show and elevate its production value. Dead Meat is not just about the odd eats; it showcases the people who enjoy or rely on these sometimes invasive and dangerous species for food.

Barrett 50 Cal

Dead center on Dead Meat! Scott Leysath teams up with River Klass, host of Ranch America, at a gun range in Reno, Nevada. The two take turns firing a massive Barrett .50 caliber rifle. After some friendly competition and plenty of laughs, only one shooter lands a perfect bullseye!

Duck Hunting Sucks

Duck hunting sucks! Oh wait, no it doesn’t… Kevin Phillips gets the upper hand on Scott Leysath while on their thirty day adventure in Argentina and Uruguay. He slipped out early for an epic duck hunt while Scott snoozed through his alarm. Never trust a buddy.

Prairie Dogs

Order up! Prairie Dog Stew, hold the plague. Scott Leysath whips up a classic stew with a unique protein: prairie dogs. They’re a nuisance to ranchers in the Dakotas, so Scott and a few buddies shot a few and cooked them up. How’d it taste? Watch the clip.
